Growth spurt in support of Weedbusters New Zealand

Royal Forest & Bird Protection Society members and QEII National Trust covenantors and coordinators have for many years been involved in local Weedbusters initiatives, so it’s good to now be able to welcome these two organisations as ‘official’ national supporters of Weedbusters.

Dave Banks, Field Operations Manager of QEII, sees the national approach of Weedbusters as fitting well with QEII goals.

“Weedbusters joins individual and group efforts from across the country together to make a big difference,” says Dave.

“We are pleased to be able to work in with Weedbusters to encourage communities to tackle weed issues in their areas.”

Mike Britton, General Manager of Forest & Bird echoes this.

“Forest & Bird’s main focus is being a voice for New Zealand’s unique natural environments, and weeds can have major impacts on these areas,” says Mike.

“We are really pleased to support Weedbusters in spreading the word about weeds, and encouraging New Zealanders to recognise invasive plant species as a serious threat to our precious native ecosystems.”
