We dug out ginger plants and stored them in black plastic to eventually decompose. We manually sifted a garden full of oxalis and destroyed the bulbs by roasting them in the log fire. Clumps of agapanthus have been dug out and the tubers wrapped in plastic and buried, so that they decompose over time.
The ginger has been replaced with a selection of small shrubs, most notably lavender 'Bee Brilliant' and 'Avonview'. The oxalis infested garden is now planted in tulips, irises and freesias. As for the agapanthus - they have been replaced with metrosideros 'mistral'. |
